This section ‘Learning with Generative AI’ focuses on how to use generative AI to support and enhance your learning. It starts by explaining the role of GenAI tools in supporting knowledge acquisition, retention, and application.

This is followed by an introduction to GenAI prompts – the crucial instructions that direct GenAI models, followed by offering two different approaches that may be used to create effective prompts and achieve best results. There are suggested best practices for prompts, with a range of exemplars demonstrating different GenAI tools, created by students for students. These insights are detailed here to suggest ways of engaging with GenAI tools that maximise educational benefits and minimise potential risks.
