Teaching and Learning & GenAI

In this unit, we will explore the practical integration of GenAI tools into teaching and learning, highlighting their potential to streamline tasks like creating teaching materials and assessments. We’ll focus on practical applications, underscoring the need for a critical perspective on their limitations and risks to ensure responsible use in higher education.

We aim to foster a critical approach to AI use in education, categorising AI tool applications into three main areas: task support, learning enhancement, and accessibility support. While each discipline may have unique applications, this guide provides general examples applicable across various fields.

Learning outcomes:

  • Recognise where GenAI tools could be applied in higher education and assess their potential to support tasks, enhance learning, and improve accessibility
